Tax Increment Finance Commission
The Tax Increment Finance Commission is responsible for administering the TIF districts in West Plains. A TIF is a special taxing district that provides tax funding for new business and industrial development. In the original plan, only the new taxes (the increment) are used to help fund development and existing tax amounts are left as is. The TIF commission decides how the funding is spent in each of the city's TIF districts.
