AN ORDINANCE REVOKING AND CHANGING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF DIVISION 2:  PARKING FOR THE DISABLED, SECTION 90-336 LICENSES AND STICKERS, CODE OF ORDINANCES

 

            WHEREAS, the State of Missouri already issues vehicle stickers or hangers to physically disabled persons for display in windshields; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Plains deems it wise and necessary to change and revoke certain sections of Division 2: Parking for the Disabled, Section 90-336, Licenses and Stickers.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST PLAINS, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1:         Section 90-336 Licenses and Stickers (a) is hereby changed as follows:

                        It shall be unlawful the for operator of a vehicle to stop or park any vehicle in a space designated by a posted sign for handicapped persons, unless the vehicle bears the state license plates for the disabled as provided in RSMo 301.142 or the vehicle has displayed on the front windshield an official sticker or hanger authorizing the vehicle to be parked in the space designated for handicapped persons.

 

Section 2:         Section 90-336 Licenses and Stickers (c) is hereby revoked.

 

Section 3:         That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect and after its passage and approval.
