AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE MULTIJURISDICTIONAL ENFORCEMENT GROUP

 

WHEREAS, by Section 195.505 RSMo, the City is authorized to enter into cooperative agreements with other political subdivisions of this State, and

 

WHEREAS, by Section 195.505 RSMo, the City has authority to participate in a Multijurisdictional Enforcement Group for the purpose of intensive professional enforcement of the drug laws of this state in a specified geographical area, and

 

WHEREAS, in order to better protect the health, safety and well-being of the residents of the City, the City Council deems it advisable to cooperate in the formation of a Multijurisdictional Enforcement Group with other participating County, Municipal, and State Governments located in the following Missouri Counties:  Carter, Crawford, Douglas, Howell, Oregon, Ozark, Ripley, Shannon, Texas, Dent, and Wright.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST PLAINS, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor of the City be, and hereby is, authorized and directed on behalf of the city to execute any and all documents necessary in order to form and participate in such a Multijurisdictional Enforcement Group Section 195.505 RSMo.

 

Section 3:  This ordinance is necessary for the immediate protection of the public safety and shall be in full force and effect from and after  it’s passage.
