BILL NO. 598 RESOLUTION __________

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A 5-YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF WEST PLAINS AND THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED NEAR THE NORTH ENTRANCE OF THE OZARK HERITAGE WELCOME CENTER.

WHEREAS, the City of West Plains, Missouri desires to lease property from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) for constructing and maintaining a “Welcome to West Plains, Population 10,000” sign near the north entrance to the Ozark Heritage Welcome Center.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST PLAINS, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: That the City of West Plains, Missouri, be, and hereby is, empowered and authorized to execute the lease agreement (Exhibit A) with MoDOT for property located near the north entrance to the Ozark Heritage Welcome Center. The agreement is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof.

Section 2: That Mayor Joe Paul Evans is hereby authorized and directed to execute said lease agreement for and on behalf of the City of West Plains, Missouri, and City Clerk Connie Shelton is hereby authorized and directed to attest the execution of said Lease Agreement by Joe Paul Evans and affix the seal of the City of West Plains, Missouri thereon.

Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its date of passage and approval.
