WEST PLAINS CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Special Council Meeting
July 27, 2001

The City Council met for a special council meeting at 4:00 on July 27, 2001. Members present were Mayor Joe Paul Evans, Councilman Jack Pahlmann, Councilman Louis Citro, Councilwoman Judy North and Councilman Bob Burtrum. Also present were City Clerk Shelton, City Administrator Fugate, and City Attorney Charles Cantrell.

I. PRELIMINARIES

Mayor Evans established a quorum and called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

II. COUNCIL ACTION

A. Bid – Concrete Saw for Engineering Construction

Mr. Fugate said that this would be taken out of both the Engineering budget at $2,000 and the Street Construction Department Budget. The motion was made to accept the bid of Southern Missouri Contractors Supply for $2,998 with the saws to be purchased from Carter Waters provided they would fit the saw. Motion passed unanimously.

III. ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION

A. The motion was made by Councilwoman North and seconded by Councilman Citro to adjourn to closed session to discuss litigation as provided by RSMo 610.021 (1).

IV. COUNCIL ACTION

A. Utility Connection - Mark Laxton, A & W Restaurant

The motion was made by Councilman Pahlmann and seconded by Councilwoman North to authorize a utility connection for Mark Laxton, A & W Restaurant, Old Circle Drive Area. Motion passed unanimously.

B. Lawsuit Assignment with Quesco

The motion was made by Councilwoman North and seconded by Councilman Pahlmann to authorize the City to proceed with assigning the City’s claim against Riechmann Transport to Quesco Turbomachinery. Motion passed unanimously.

IV. ADJOURN

The motion was made by Councilman Pahlmann and seconded by Councilwoman North to adjourn. Motion passed unanimously.
